As a symbol of wealth preservation, the Pixiu is one of three types of auspicious celestial guardians in Chinese mythology. It has the powerful head of a Chinese dragon, the bold body of a lion, and—historically—sports on their heads either one antler (male) or two antlers (female)

This jade pendant was hand sculpted to depict the male Pixiu resting its head on top of a large coin while guarding it thus symbolizing the protection of wealth.
